 Job Title: Loan Officer

Job Function: The primary focus of the Loan officer is to generate loan application underwrite and to close loans to qualified small business owners, and to provide and/or facilitate effective technical assistance for RBAC’s client throughout New Jersey.

 Accountability: Reports to the Director of Financial Programs

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 Pre-loan Technical Assistance

o Develop a comprehensive familiarity of area resources for assistance with all aspects of starting and operating a business, including specific help with writing a business plan an producing financial projections

o Guide potential applicants in rectifying past credit problems (resources, above, should include credit counseling services)

o Assist aspiring business owners with a savings plan to accumulate enough owner’s equity

 Loan Applications and Underwriting

o Assist applicants with preparing a complete loan application

o Perform analysis of business prospects and personal financial status of business owner(s)

o Prepare 2-3 page loan analysis for review by the Director of Lending

o Present recommended loans to RBAC Loan Committee

o Close loans that are approved once all the conditions have been satisfied

Post-loan Technical Assistance

o Coordinate technical assistance with RBAC Business Mentor

o Provide assistance or referrals to help strengthen specific parts of a business

Workout

o Implement proactive strategies for early intervention with delinquent borrowers

o Recommend when collection action should be taken and implement or manage, in the case of using RBAC’s collection attorney

Marketing

o Get to know, and contact regularly, bankers that can refer potential borrowers to RBAC

o Present RBAC at chamber events, local business-owners associations, SBA community seminars, economic development seminars, etc.

 Administrative

o Provide all necessary statistical data to RBAC’s Loan Accountant for new and existing

 RBAC clients

o Keep track of inquiries and referrals and provide monthly activity highlights to the Program Director in a timely manner

 

Skills:

o B. S. in Business related field

o 1 Years underwriting and 2 years working with small businesses 

o Strong bilingual oral and written skills required (English and Spanish)

o Self-driven, independent and goal-oriented

o Strong organizational skills

o Knowledge of finance, accounting and marketing

o Experience in public speaking

Requirements:

o Insured vehicle

o Valid driver license

o Available for some evening and weekend events.

Title: Loan Packager

Function: The primary focus of the Loan Packager is to assist loan applicants with the loan applications by creating a loan file, then insert the loan information in the appropriate system as well as generating closing documents of loans that have been approved to qualified small business owners, and to provide and/or facilitate effective technical assistance for RBAC’s client throughout New Jersey.   

Accountability: Reports to the Director of the Financial Programs

 Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-loan Technical Assistance

 

o Develop a comprehensive familiarity of business area resources for assistance with all aspects of starting and operating a business, including specific help with writing a

business plan and producing financial projections

o Guide potential applicants in rectifying past credit problems (resources, above, should include credit counseling services)

o Assist aspiring business owners with a savings plan to accumulate enough owner’s equity

Loan Applications and Underwriting

o Assist applicants with preparing a complete loan application

o Insert the loan information in the appropriate system and perform analysis of business prospects and personal financial status of business owner(s)

o Prepare loan analysis for review by the Director of Lending

o Prepare closing documents to loans that are approved once all the conditions have been satisfied

Post-loan Technical Assistance 

o Support the Director of Financial Programs with the monthly events and seminars

o Provide assistance to clients to help strengthen specific parts of a business plan

o Coordinate TA meetings with Clients and assigned RBAC staff

o Input in the system all TA hours

Administrative

o Support RBAC staff with all clerical work on different projects

o Keep track of inquiries and referrals by updating the appropriate database and provide monthly activity highlights to the Program Director in a timely manner

o Provide all necessary statistical data for new and existing RBAC clients

Marketing

Provide logistical support at RBAC’s presentations at chamber events, local business-owners associations, SBA community seminars, economic development seminars, etc

 Skills: 

o Pursuing a college career in business, communications or related fields

o Strong bilingual oral and written skills required (English and Spanish)

o Self-driven, independent and goal-oriented

o Strong organizational skills

 Requirements: 

o Available for some evening and weekend events.
